Janna Gur's Culinary Guide: Around Kinneret Lake (Sea of Galilee)

Kze Hanachal (Kinneret lake, Paz Gas Station at the entrance to kibbutz Genossar)
04-6717776
This large and plainly looking dining room near Kinneret lake is often packed with large groups of tourists, but it is by no means a tourist trap. In fact it serves interesting and authentic dishes, inspired by Lebanese and Jordanian cuisine.

Decks (Tiberias) kosher
04-6792564
Another favorite of tour operators, this is your best bet in Tiberias. Huge skewers of grilled meat welcome the visitors and the entrance, but the grilled fish is also worth trying.

Al Hanahar (Kinneret Lake, near Kibbutz Kinneret)
04-6759690 (open from 19:00)
Located in the shade of the legendary eucalyptus grove between Degania and Kibbutz Kinneret, its patio reaching the bank of the Jordan River, this popular bistro is favored by local college students and residents of the neighboring kibbutzim. The food is surprisingly good, especially salads and starters.

Rotenberg
Next to Kibbutz Gesher. 04-675-2237
Tiny but quite stylish, this restaurant in the heart of the Jordan Valley offers nicely prepared seafood dishes, often with an Asian twist.
