Sour tasting and creamy, labane is the easiest cheese to make at home. Sheep milk yogurt makes an especially good labane. Cow milk yogurt is also good.
Ingredients (serves 4)
5-6 cups yogurt, preferably sheep milk (at least 3% fat)
2 teaspoons salt
Olive oil
Mix the ingredients and serve at once, or let stand for 5-10 minutes for a stronger lemony taste.
